How to Get More Interviews: Be Different
Another way to get more interviews is to follow up. Don’t become a pest. When you have to leave a message for someone, tell them why you qualify. Don’t do it because, “Hey, I want to make sure you receive my resume,” because you know they received it. Are you sending in an automated manner? Do you think the system sucks it in and eats it up and makes it disappear? Of course not.
What you want to do is give them a reason why they should be looking for a resume because you are proving that you are qualified for the position that you understand. So be concise and to the point. No one wants to listen to a minute or two of diatribe, and you’ll get more results and more interviews.
