Lisa Lach-Neilson’s oil paintings

Lisa Lach-Neilson’s fragile oil paintings often check identities. The artist from Denmark has been from Denmark for the past few years. She has been professionally painting since 2012, with a background in clothing design as a master’s student at the Royal Danish School of Design.

“It is usually characterized by a young girl or woman, trying to find balance and navigation in a confusing world, and full of questions about her own worth, and the role she plays – perhaps how to get out of it,” one statement said. “It is about being human on a profound personal level, becoming a girl growing up, and almost inconsistently discovering the darker parts of life, the lives within and around her. Losing a pure and innocent way of thinking, facing the dilemma and challenges of life and the dilemma and challenges of curiosity about the unknown.”
