The works of Chinese artist Lee Wenao are dramatic. It’s not just the artist performing a lonely role, a young, vulnerable woman who is always barefoot and always in some kind of undressing state. Apparently what she thought. As we agree, this is how we identify with her, and it is the protagonist of a drama. It’s easy to confuse the artist and the subject. The woman looked to the audience at the window and looked aside. We can’t describe her expression, let alone be sure. Contempt, alert, afraid? Or did she share some quiet secrets, some personal conspiracy? She doesn’t wear her face anyway. We don’t know her story, but we think. We hope to continue researching this work, hoping to solve any situation she is in.
