Chocolate Egg Pancake Recipe • Sweet Pea Chef

Ingredient notes
Between the protein powder, rolling oats and eggs, you get a portion of protein. Then you will add banana and cocoa powder to add flavor!
Let’s take a closer look at these healthy ingredients:
banana: Any ripe banana will be made for this recipe. Ripe bananas, the sweeter the pancakes. (I also use bananas in banana protein pancakes).
Oatmeal: I like to use rolled oats instead of flour in this pancake recipe to increase the benefits of oats. Avoid fast oats, as they are processed more than rolling oats.
Protein powder (chocolate): Using protein powder as a substitute for flour in pancakes is an excellent way to add extra protein. It’s important to get high quality protein powder, so I love my cleaning brand Vanilla Soybean-based protein powder. Here is the protein powder I use in other protein pancake recipes.
Cocoa powder: I recommend 100% cocoa powder as this recipe to avoid adding any sugar. My favorite is Nestlé’s special darkness, but there are many great brands.
egg: Eggs are the glue that holds these pancakes together. If you want to avoid eggs, you can use unsweetened applesauce. To reduce fat and more protein, choose protein.
Cinnamon: While not an important ingredient to make the pancake work, I like to add a little cinnamon to add flavor and sweetness to the pancake. This can be omitted if you prefer.
