Even though I was under a lot of weight, Tortuga’s backpack felt comfortable and evenly distributed. The bag scored 9.2 for comfort, the highest comfort score of all the city trip backpacks we tested.
The main compartment is fully open, like a book, which means you can wrap it like a suitcase instead of stuffing something from the top like a standard day backpack. The external laptop sleeve makes it easy for me to take the computer out for a TSA check, and I love pockets. I was able to keep it organized during my trip and in this bag.
Finally, the backpack is first-class in build quality with a score of 9.5. The fabric is sturdy, the zipper is a large YKK model and each component feels durable.
Tortuga Travel Backpack Pro isn’t perfect. On the one hand, it weighs 4.5 pounds and feels very heavy. I think the added comfort and support make up for the weight, but if you are looking for the best lightweight luggage, this is not a good choice.
The price of this backpack is also at the high end. You can get what you need with a durable construction and smart design, but it’s not a great option for anyone who only travels occasionally. This package is an investment and you want to make sure you use it frequently to get the value of your money.
If you need an organization like a suitcase and you are comfortable carrying it on city streets and airports, the Tortuga Travel backpack is ideal. However, if you tend to be bright or worry about the price, this may not be the best option. This backpack is specialized in frequent travelers with quantification, durability and style.

It has a very similar design, but it is made from cheaper 630d nylon, with a smaller stiffness/construction, less water resistance, no adjustable torso length and a pound less weight.
