Photographer Machteld Kroon’s “Skybox”

The remake of the lens, Machteld Kroon, is an ancient replica, discovers the lens from an unknown source. Headquartered in the Netherlands, Kruen’s photography explores family life and heritage, blending documentary and constructed reality. Her work delves into complex tapestries of identity, memory and blood with a beautiful artistic background. This particular project is based on a box of slideshows over 30 years or more. With no identifying information or context, Kroon considers his own meaning and origin while literally projecting his own meaning and origin:

“This original photographer repeatedly captured the sky like a child who explored repeatedly, this purely observing behavior was not burdened by the meaning. Over time, these images grew gradually in me. Their consistency became a language, meditation on what seemed quiet. In their endurance, I saw the miracle of a child and the adults needed to catch the fleet. By projecting these slides onto my body and onto the snow, I transferred their original intentions. The past meets the present, and the behavior of re-photography changes their purpose, injecting them into the new meaning shaped by my existence. ”
