Headquartered in the Netherlands, Kruen’s photography explores family life and heritage, blending documentary and constructed reality. Her work delves into complex tapestries of identity, memory and blood with a beautiful artistic background. This particular project is based on a box of slideshows over 30 years or more. With no identifying information or context, Kroon considers his own meaning and origin while literally projecting his own meaning and origin:
“This original photographer repeatedly captured the sky like a child who explored repeatedly, this purely observing behavior was not burdened by the meaning. Over time, these images grew gradually in me. Their consistency became a language, meditation on what seemed quiet. In their endurance, I saw the miracle of a child and the adults needed to catch the fleet. By projecting these slides onto my body and onto the snow, I transferred their original intentions. The past meets the present, and the behavior of re-photography changes their purpose, injecting them into the new meaning shaped by my existence. ”
