Best PC gaming monitor (2025): Samsung. AOC and so on

My personal daily driver is the AOC Q27G4ZD (8/10, wired review). The 1440p screen is a very manageable resolution for modern systems and is also an ideal goal for new versions. The AOC is a premium version with the latest panel technology and is very affordable. It quickly replaced an impressive 4K screen, which I think proves how much improvements the QD-Oled have in most other panel types.

It has a refresh rate of 240 Hz, which is one of the highest speeds you’ll find on the gaming screen, with only 300 Hz or higher options. According to Steam hardware survey, only more than half of gamers still play at 1080p. Upgrading to 1440p, coupled with refreshed improvements, should feel huge for anyone looking at a 90 Hz or even 120 Hz screen.

I only have two complaints about AOC, one relatively small. A smooth finish is OK for pure gaming, but it can be a bit troublesome if you plan to use a monitor at work and gaming, especially when it’s in a brightly lit office. The problem on the shelf is smaller, which is a little brighter for the screen weight, but I recommend using the monitor arm for better adjustment anyway.
