United Mission Card and United Club Card: Which one is the best?

UnitedClub℠ Card (see Fees and Fees) is the most faithful flyer premium personal credit card for United Airlines, while UnitedQuest℠ Card (see Fees and Fees) is one of two mid-tier options.

Since both cards have undergone significant changes in March, it is a good time to evaluate which option is the most valuable option for United Loyalists.

If you are a regular flyer for Manchester United and want to know if you apply for one or the other, this guide should help you determine which one is best for you.

United Mission Card and United Club Card Welcome Bonus

United Quest Card (United Quest Card) spent $4,000 in the first three months of opening an account, offering a welcome bonus of 100,000 miles and 3,000 PQP.

According to TPG’s July 2025 valuation, the bonus mileage is worth $1,300. The offer ends on August 20th.

United Club Cards currently spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening an account, and currently offers a welcome bonus of 80,000 miles. According to TPG’s July 2025 valuation, these bonus miles are worth $1,040.

United Club Cards require an additional $1,000 in extra spending to earn less bonus miles, which is a short-term reason several cardholders may choose the United Mission.

winner: Joint mission card. Higher welcome offers and bonuses PQP gives this card an advantage in Manchester United clubs.

United Mission Card and United Club Card Benefits

Both cards offer specialized benefits for Flying United, so let’s first look at the benefits of overlap.

Common Benefits

If you are chasing the status, a club card is a better choice. You will spend $15 on the card (up to 28,000 PQP per year) to get 1 Prime Qualifying Tournament; the task is slower, with a speed of 1 pqp per $20 (the lower cap is 18,000 pqps per year).

Then, starting in February 2026, United Club will receive 1,500 PQP boosts per year, with a mission of 1,000 PQPs.

Unique benefits of mission cards

As an intermediate joint credit card, joint missions provide decent benefits for common joint flyers and a series of declared credits.

The card’s $350 annual fee is very high. However, you’ll get $200 in United Travelbank cash for each anniversary year, which is an easy way to cut it over half. Declaration credits with merchants like Avis, JSX and ride-hailing services further offset it.

You will receive a bonus flight discount of 10,000 miles per year after the first card’s adult anniversary – and earn a second second after spending $20,000 in a calendar year.

A big drawback to this card is that it does not provide lounge access.

Unique benefits of club cards

Instead, United Club is for United loyalists who want lounge access and enhanced travel allowances.

One of the biggest benefits of the $695 annual fee is the free Union Club membership. Members cost $750 individually, so the fact that the United Club Card offers for less makes the card worth it. You can also unlock United Club All Access membership by spending $50,000 on your card during the calendar year or holding MileagePlus Premier Gold Stucation.

The card provides the same statement credits as the task, but with a higher number. These credits help offset their massive annual fees, which is almost twice the task.

winner: United Club Card. Lounge access and added statement credit are hard to beat.

Earn miles with United Mission Cards and United Club Cards

These cards have a rather similar income structure except for two differences:

  • United Club Cards cost 1 mile per dollar on United flights and other United Airlines purchases.
  • United Quest cards cost 1 mile per dollar on selected streaming services and dining.

The two cards also earn 5 miles on prepaid hotel reservations through famous hotels and resorts, spending 1 mile of other purchases per dollar.

winner: United Club Card. The revenue rate of joint purchases is slightly higher, which gives this card an advantage.

Redeem miles through joint mission cards and joint club cards

Both cards allow you to earn Manchester United miles through credit card spending, which are automatically deposited into your MireagePlus account. You can redeem Joint flights, United Express flights and flights on Star Alliance Airlines and partner airlines.

Another option is to use your Manchester United mileage to pay for your credit card’s annual fee – although this is usually of poor value compared to flight redemption.

When redeeming Manchester United mileage, you have the lowest price when booking a saving-level ticket because they are the lowest price.

TPG credit card writer Chris Nelson loves to redeem his own inter-EU flights. Recently, he redeemed his mileage, with a flight from Barcelona to Munich only 8,000 miles.

winner: tie. These cards are earned by Manchester United Miles and can be redeemed through the MileagePlus program.

Should I get a United Mission Card or United Club Card?

If you are a semi-accident joint flyer, then United Quest is your card. You will receive priority boarding, free check bags and some useful statement credits. But United Club has released enhanced benefits, larger statement credits and free lounges.

How to switch from a joint mission card to a joint club card

To switch from a mission card to a club card, call the phone number on the back of the credit card and ask for product changes. Just be aware that you will not qualify for the welcome bonus of the United Club Card.

Bottom line

Both cards are good choices for frequently using joint flyers.

If you are a die-hard joint loyalist who wants access to the lounge and charges a lot of yearly fees, the United Club card will be perfect for your wallet. Otherwise, cheaper joint mission cards still offer valuable joint allowances and a large set of statement credits.
