Will it look bad if I’ve quit my job and am unemployed?

By Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter

If you quit a job and are actively looking for a new one, does it look bad to potential employers that you’ve resigned and are unemployed? Considering you can’t explain it in person yet.

The best way to Google yourself

I’m Jeff Altman, big game hunter. I am a coach who helps people in a variety of different ways. Workplace issues such as job hunting, recruiting more effectively, managing and leading, dealing with workplace issues.

I’ve been asked if it would look bad if they quit a job and were looking for a new one, the full question is, if you quit a job and were actively looking for a new one, would it look bad to a potential employer that you had quit and were unemployed, considering you haven’t been able to explain it face to face, so they received your resume, which showed you were unemployed? Well, in some cases, it can look bad. In some cases, this will be one of the first questions they ask you during the interview.

Basically, you’re putting yourself in a position where you’re losing influence. You allow yourself to put yourself behind the eight ball, to use another cliche, you know, like they know when they make an offer, you’re not going to take the job unless you have something else, so they’re always going to try to underestimate you and they’re going to distrust you because you reacted immaturely to the situation, why? I’m talking about immaturity, you can’t hold on and get a job while getting paid, how strong are you, so I just want to say to you guys, doing this can really prevent you from quitting if you can avoid it, but the exception is if you are abused in some way by a coworker, a manager, you know what I’m talking about, get out of here, I’m Jeff Altman. Hope you find this helpful.
