New leaks indicate Grok 3.5 is coming

Based on references to models found in certain lines of code, the Grok 3.5 release is coming soon.

According to TestingCatalog, the latest version of Grok does not have an official release date, but this may have been any day that has appeared in XAI’s latest web builds since the mention of Grok 3.5.

The AI news website also noticed a reference to the API and said it might also prepare screen sharing for Grok’s voice mode on iOS. This will be similar to the voice mode of OpenAI using Chatgpt and Google’s Gemini Live capabilities.

Mixable light speed

In late April, XAI founder Elon Musk released an early beta version of Supergrok subscribers, beginning a wider countdown to release. Musk recently posted a comment on Grok 3.5 on X post, saying it will perform well in “first principle (truth) reasoning,” suggesting that the new version will have stronger reasoning capabilities.

Compared to other models with more safety guardrails, the model is touted as an “unfiltered” model. Recently, this is a reaction to completely unrelated inquiries, with constant reference to the mistakes of “white genocide” in South Africa.

The current model Grok 3 is comparable to competitors with image generation, research and daily use, but the Grok 3.5 may be an upgrade in coding capabilities, and it currently lags behind models like Gemini and Claude.

Please note that the Grok 3.5 can be shipped in the near future. When doing so, we will know how Musk’s latest models stack onto the competition.
