James Rondeau returns to director of the Chicago Academy of Arts

James Rondeau will return as a director of the Chicago Academy of Arts, after he had undressed on a plane to Germany. CBS News First, the news on Thursday was reported.

Rondeau has been voluntarily off from the museum’s top postal since 2016. CBShe will resume his role on Monday.

“The Chicago Art Institute’s Board Leadership conducted an independent investigation into the incident and was confident in James Rondeau’s leadership and ability to continue to serve as the museum’s chairman and director,” the agency said in a statement.

CBS The previously reported investigation was caused by an incident on a plane from Chicago to Munich in April. It said there were reports that police officers were “caught onto the plane” after a passenger took off his clothes. The passenger was reportedly Rondeau, who “drinks alcohol and takes prescription drugs.”

“I deeply regret this incident and its impact on the museum and colleagues. I have devoted my career to the Academy of Arts and I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to further develop its mission,” Rondo said in his own statement.

He first served as associate curator of contemporary art in 1998, joined the museum in 1998, served as chairman of the curator department in 2004, and served as Reins at the museum in 2016.
