Sarah Davidson – Boooooom! – Create *inspiring *community *art*design *music *movie *photo*project

Selected paintings by Canadian-born Brooklyn artist Sarah Davidson. Davidson taught art education at Emily Carr University and the University of Guelph. Their interest in nature as a subject comes from a decade of wilderness guide to outdoor schools. Davidson draws from “nature” through a queer ecological lens, woven together observation and abstraction, causing an ambiguous innerity. Many paintings seem to be trapped in transformation, porous and bizarre processes, shake perception, or give the overall impression of the macro and micro world:
Over the past four years, my obsession with butterflies and moths (especially their life cycle phase, called ‘aikiapause’, when they transition) reflects my trans nonbinary identity, transition, transition, and unwanted experience to define my experience and experience. Weird, span and painting?
