New Rosewood in Mexico, Play Down Down by IHG and other hotel news you missed

Plum is a blessing and a curse. Summer is around the corner – Victory! But, have you actually planned some summer vacation? pressure! But don’t worry, because it’s not too late to choose one of our best destinations in June or even further away in July.
May is also a busy month, and in the past few weeks you may have missed some important hotel news. I have a good Hilton Honors Point in my account and I’m happy to learn that the company is devaluing many of the high-end accommodations, some as high as 200,000 points per night.
However, I was not shocked to hear that Marriott launched another new brand – actually the 37th brand. The brand, called Marriott’s collection, will focus on bringing existing regional chains into Marriott’s Bonvoy ecosystem, starting with a partnership in India.

IHG’s “Glow” down below (and more Australian Hotel News)
Recently, in Australia, I had the opportunity to stay in the sleeves at Alice Springs in Crown Square (the adventure of “The Queen of the Desert Queen”) and the very popular InterContinental Hayman Hayman Great Barrier Reef. These hotels showcase the IHG’s range of presence in the country and I really like my stay.
Now, the IHG counts down in many return, upgrades and some new hotels: the three Crowne Plaza Properties in Kurchi Beach, Melbourne and Canberra will become intercontinental properties; the new Indigo Hotel will open in Canberra; the Voco Gold Coast will be renovated; and, by 2030, the Melbourne Intercontinental will be transformed into Regent Melbourne.
For those heading to Queensland, you’ll be happy to hear that the Mondria Gold Coast is now open. This stylish hotel is as stylish as their arrival, right in the heart of Burleigh Beach, the area’s surfing site. With Ennismore’s paid membership program Dis-Loyalty, you can actually save 50% on rooms in the Mondria Gold Coast over the next three months, part of the discount for the newly opened hotel.

There is a new rosewood on Riviera Nayarit
We love a rosewood hotel. In fact, Rosewood London is one of my favorite worlds. Mexico’s Pacific Coast now has a brand new property with the legendary brand that should be added to your list: Rosewood Mandarina.
The hotel has 134 rooms, suites and villas that offer beautiful views, outdoor showers, unlimited pool and other comforts. Food ranges from Spanish food on the beach to Japanese food. And, of course, you can expect spas and fun activities like horse riding, golfing and surfing, or just kicking back by the pool.

Raffles is taking over a famous Shanghai hotel
By 2027, Shanghai’s iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel will rebrand its brand at Shanghai Raffles Peace Hotel. It seems ACCOR is stacking legendary buildings and turning them into top-notch hotels such as Owo’s Raffles London. Located in the Art Deco building on the Bund, this hotel will remain open during the transformation period, but you can expect it to polish it all before the Raffles flag explodes.
Grand Hyatt DFW is revamping
As a West Texan, I can’t fly home without traveling through the Fort Dallas Worth International Airport (DFW). Now, ahead of its 20th anniversary in July, Grand DFW announced a $34 million remodel that will touch on everything from rooms and suites to public places, conference areas, and reimagined restaurants, bars and lounges.
This four seasons high has a new sky garden floor
I’ve been in a dark cloud, which is why I’m obsessed with the four seasons of Philadelphia hotels at Comcast Center, living on the top floor of Philadelphia’s tallest building. Now the hotel has reimagined the 45th floor as Sky Garden, which includes 1508 London-designed rooms, suites and penthouses. The floor pays tribute to the original architect of the skyscraper Norman Foster and his designs – providing guests with unique and exclusive privileges, a spa room on the floor, and more.
