Jeff Altman, Hunter, explains how to answer this tricky interview question, both in times and in bad economic times.
Will you leave more money? So say it!
I went back to another, those tough interview questions that could help you get your next job faster by performing better in the interview. Today’s difficult interview question, I think, is hysterical. But it has a reasonable purpose. The question is: “So, why are you paying so high?” is always asked, even if they don’t say that, they won’t. . . That’s the impact on this. You hear that way. “Why are you paying so high?”
So, there are two ways to answer it. The first one is: “When a company undoubtedly implies that their budget is less than you earned before, and that’s the message behind the question, when answering, “You know, you know, you’re paid a lot, but to understand, the obvious part is doing such a job and such a job, but, nothing you do is very obvious.” Job description, which shows why you are an extraordinary employee of your current company, so you have to think about this in advance and use it as a method when times are good.
Now, this is the subtlety that few people talk to you about. Let’s see when the times are bad, the market collapses. You are doing more things most companies are going to pay for and they ask you this question. When times are bad, you have to humbly say to them, “You know, the reality is that I’m paying more than the market, and my company chooses to do that. I’m going to argue with them who. They want to pay me more, but I know the market is like this for this role.” You give them salary range, “I’m ready to cash in on that price.”
Again, when times are good, you can talk about all the extra things you do, not just normal things, but when times are bad, you can also talk about some of them and build yourself. But, you continue, “But I know my company is paying a lot for what I do, so I know the market is in this range. I’m ready to accept that.”
