Artist Hannah Lee

A new series of paintings by New York artist Hannah Lee. “Dumbo’s Feather” has dreamlike, observant everyday scenes. Over the past year, Lee’s work has started from a highly personal perspective, but still manages to make people feel deeply recognizable and relevant. Lee’s painting process is also somewhat unique because it involves applying a weak grid to reference photos. Gradually presenting her work, an abstraction took place. Apart from that, Lee is legally blind. Lee’s images use pre-map photos to have a sense of photographic memory in many ways.

“Dumbo’s Feather” marks Lee’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles. See more images on James Fuentes from June 7 to July 5, or show on James Fuentes.
