During rare daytime appearances, foxes stay cool in the Indus River – Huge

During a recent expedition in Gujarat, India, photographer Hardik Shelat captured rare phenomena along the river in the sultry heat. He and his colleagues aren’t the only ones who can keep hydrated to keep calm, with temperatures as high as 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

“It was a summer afternoon and we were on a day trip and clicking on these amazing creatures, fruit bats,” Serrat told recently Petapixel. “We waited for nearly two and a half hours and saw nothing in the intense heat.” Ultimately, the wait proved worth it, as nocturnal creatures usually appear from the trees to cool down and drink water.

The Indian flying fox or giant fruit bat is named for its long canine-toothed nose and incredible size, with a wingspan of nearly four feet. These animals gather in trees, they live in large colonies, raising themselves with fruits, nectar, seeds and insects, using their vision and smell to find food instead of like many other bat species, rather than echo distribution.
