Although they are created digitally, Pekdemir’s portraits can mimic the high contrast values of Daguerreotypes. Pekdemir uses 3D modeling software to combine strange, furry creatures, giving them rich form and trustworthy textures. Pekdemir appears to be testing the boundary between two and three dimensions of virtual and physical. We often use photography as a medium for telling the truth, but Pekdemir uses this assumption to attract his audience with these fictional personalities. Check out some of his recent jobs.
