Astronauts discover symbiosis with nature in the weird paintings of Agus Putu Suyadnya – Huge

exist Symbiosis UtopiaAgus Putu Suyadnya imagines a future in which tropical ecosystems are no different from those in Southeast Asia, and the ecosystems in East Asia have become the site for humans to communicate with nature.

Surrounded by green leaves and moss-covered roots, it seems to glow with blue and green fluff, a frequently-appearing astronaut figure approaches each scene comfortably and easily. In one work, the suitable character shakes the famous conservationist Jane Goodall of the chimpanzee and wiels the big bubble wand to create traces of the iridescent ball in another iridescent ball. In “Cosmic Self-Healing”, the character sits in a comfortable chair with a large potted plant beside him. However, this typical domestic scene is located on the moon, with the whirlpool atmosphere of the earth appearing behind him.

Suyadnya’s paintings, while seductive in color and density, are surreal and herald a stunning future that is subject to the climate crisis. After all, astronauts are completely covered in protective capsules, which suggests that people can only survive this critical adaptation. The artist said: “Humans cannot live without nature, and the natural world without humans will continue to survive. So why, as humans, do we think we have the upper hand?”
