Instapaper is one of the oldest and most comprehensive readers apps out there, and it does a great job of turning messy web pages into calm, ordered text that looks like they are displayed on an e-reader. Articles can be added directly from your browser, manually pasted or emailed, and there are apps for reading saved articles on your web browser and mobile devices.

There are many neat little features hidden in Instapaper, such as the ability to organize articles with folders and tags. If you think you like Instapaper enough, there is also a paid tier: $6 per month, which adds features including the option to read articles to you, the “’speed read” mode that displays one word at a time, and the ability to send articles to Amazon Kindle.
