Buy Alaska Miles with up to 70% bonus: How to Save Thousands of Dollars on Flights

From now until June 26, Alaska Airlines Miles plans to offer up to 70% bonus when purchasing mileage, at prices as low as 1.74 cents per mile. Simply log in through the Alaska Airlines website and purchase the miles.

Since these miles are hard to make money, buying them on this sale can help you follow your account to save on future redemptions, especially if you are ready to book a high value reward flight and you have found the available reward space.

Now, let’s take a closer look at this offer.

Purchase point and mileage promotions are often targeted, so your promotions may be different. Here is the overview we see in this tiered offer:

Purchased mileage Mileage bonus Price per mile (tax included)
3,000 to 19,000 miles 50% 1.97 cents
20,000 to 39,000 miles 60% 1.85 cents
40,000 to 100,000 miles 70% 1.74 cents

This is one of the highest bonuses we have seen in Alaska mileage. Although the lowest price you can get is 1.74 cents – still worth 1.5 cents than our June 2025 Alaska Mileage valuation, it’s still worth taking advantage of this promotion.

You can occasionally get over 1.5 cents per mile, especially if you redeem first-class travel among Alaska’s numerous international airline partners, such as Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Fiji Airlines.

How many miles can I buy?

If you hold an MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K or MVP Gold 100K Elite identity in your Mileage Plan program, there is no limit on how many Alaska mileage you can buy every year. If you don’t have an elite identity with Alaska, you can only purchase up to 150,000 miles per calendar year.

However, knowing that the calendar year limit for non-elite members does not include reward miles. If your goal is to get a 60% bonus, and have not purchased or received any Alaska mileage as a gift this year, you can buy 150,000 miles with this sale and get a bonus of 90,000 miles for a total of 240,000 miles to deposit into your account.

How should I redeem Alaska mileage?

In addition to Oneworld and Oneworld Connect Partners in Alaska, Alaska Airlines works with a variety of other airlines, including Korean Air and LATAM. On top of that, you can add a free stopover on many Alaska Mileage Program Rewards.

Since Alaska merged with Hawaiian Airlines, operators have announced plans to operate under a single loyalty program that will be launched this summer. The results are yet to be seen and how the mileage plan reward chart changes. Currently, the distance-based rewards table still has some great sweet spots that you can get up to half of the redemption with a global show sale on June 30.

For example, a TPG employee helped two of his friends use the promotion to book business-grade flights home from Tokyo. Japan Airlines seats cost 75,000 miles, plus $60 in taxes and fees.

Alaska Airlines

Since mileage had to be purchased in 1,000 increments, they bought 45,000 miles and bought it at a 70% bonus of 76,500 miles per person, with a price of $1,330 after tax. Not bad for air tickets with a cash price of over $4,000.

Similarly, you can fly U.S. Business Class from Chicago to London, with only 55,000 Alaska miles and $18. These promotions will cost you $1,035, and if you book cash, it will cost more than $2,738.

You can also book Starlux business-grade tickets from Los Angeles to Taipei for 75,000 Alaska miles and $18. With this promotion, you can buy all the miles you need for for $1,330 without having to pay $3,680 in cash.

Which credit card should I use to buy Alaska mileage?

When you purchase Miles, Points.com (not Alaska Airlines) will process your purchase. Therefore, you will not receive a reward reward for using a card with airline spending as a bonus category.

Instead, pay with a credit card that provides reliable returns on daily purchases, such as:

Bottom line

We do not recommend buying points or miles. However, if you have an upcoming trip, you want to book with Alaska mileage, and you find reward availability, this sale may allow you to earn Alaska mileage at a reasonable price.

If you don’t need to make a mileage right away, but start planning your trip, you may prefer to apply for an Alaska Airlines credit card and earn miles with its welcome bonus. And, don’t forget, you can still transfer your AMEX membership reward points to Hawaiian Airlines, extending to June 30.
