Central Pompidou opens new Brazilian satellite

While its Paris base has ended for five years to undergo renovation, the Pompidou Centre will expand its international reach and open its first South American space in 2027.

The new location of Foz DoIguaçu, originally scheduled to launch in November 2027, will be one of several satellites operated by the Pompidou Centre, with others in Shanghai, Málaga and Metz, France and other regions.

The Pompidou Museum in the centre of Brazil is receiving financial support from officials of Parana, who oversees the territory surrounding the UNESCO World Heritage Site Iguaçu Falls. It will be designed by Paraguayan architect Solano Benítez.
