Emirates and Marriott Bonvoy Expand Partnership

Over the years, Emirates and Marriott Bonvoy have collaborated in various forms. But now members can convert to Amirates Skywards Miles to Marriott Point at 3 miles.
Here is an overview of your expectations for the UAE and Marriott partnership.
Earnings and Income
If you have a Bonvoy Marriott and Amirates Skywards account, you can link them too. After all, select members of both programs can earn rewards in both programs and enjoy selected benefits on qualified flights and hotel accommodation.
Amirates Skywards Shikwards Silver members and above can earn 1 mile per dollar at a hotel in Marriott Bonvoy (except for earning Marriott Points as usual). Additionally, Emirates Sky members and higher bonuses are available at Marriott hotels and resorts, including 4pm checkout (subject to availability) and free in-room Wi-Fi.
Bonvoy Gold Elite members and higher Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members can earn 3 million points on eligible UAE flights (except for Skywards Miles as usual). Marriott Platinum Elite members and higher members can enjoy selected automatic benefits including priority check-in and boarding.

Conversion Reward
All Marriott hotel Bonvoy and Amirates Skywards members can convert returns between the two programs. Specifically, you can convert 3 Marriott points into 1 day mile. Plus, you will receive 5,000 bonus miles for every 60,000 Marriott hotel Bonvoy points. This may be particularly important as some other plans depreciate and temporarily stop the transfer to make Chiefs International soar.
Starting May 27, you can convert 3 miles of 3 miles into 2 Marriott Points. The only requirement is that each conversion includes at least 3,000 miles.
But just because you can convert rewards doesn’t mean you should. TPG’s May 2025 valuation fixed the value of UAE miles at 1.2 cents per person and Marriott points at 0.7 cents. So when you transfer rewards in either direction, you theoretically lose value.

Bottom line
Double income opportunities are pure wins for travelers, because getting more rewards is always good. However, think carefully before switching between Marriott Hotel and the Amirates Skywards program. Specifically, make sure you get good value and won’t be better off from another program, purchase points or miles or book flights or reserved through other methods.
