I lived in Johannesburg Sandton, South Africa shortly after. When checking account activity after staying, I noticed an unexpected “open bonus” of 2,000 points. Then, I remembered that Hyatt World offers 500 bonus points per night in the qualifiers for the new hotel.

I was unconsciously given benefits because Hyatt doesn’t require members to sign up for this promotion. Maybe you forgot about this promotion, too, or you never knew it. In either case, this is what you should know about Hyatt promotions that will allow you to earn 500 bonus points per night at a new hotel.

How to Earn 500 Rewards Hyatt Points per Night

This promotion is simple: Hyatt Members’ World earns 500 bonus points per night to earn qualifying accommodation in a selection of hotels in the new Hyatt portfolio. You must earn bonus points within the set time frame, usually in the first few months after the property opens. Specifically, you can earn reward points only if you checkout dates during the hotel’s quotation period.

To earn bonus points, you must provide the World of Hyatt when you check in. You must also pay a qualifying fee or redeem a free night certificate (including redemption of Hyatt Point). You can only get bonus points for one room per night.

The terms of the promotion state that the bonus points can take three to four weeks to appear in your account. However, in reality, Hyatt Regency will usually release new hotel bonuses and earn additional points during your stay.

Bottom line

Apart from the extra bonus of 500 points per night, staying at the new Hyatt Hotel is also fun, as you may stay in a room with new furniture. However, the new hotel may still be addressing certain issues and not all on-sites are fully available.
