LL Bean’s field tote bags are all gravel and have no heads: a thick, double-layer polyester shell, burly double-slit seams and feel industrial handles. Inside, the thermoplastic lining shrugged, moisture, mud and mysterious gooey, easy to clean. It’s not totally leaky, but close, it’s perfect for hauling wet beach towels, snow-ground boots or post-workout fit.
This is a single sponge cabin with no picky pockets. There is an open version, but we like the zip code model for traveling. Cable director Michael Calore tested the oversized, 53-liter version and was enough for a week’s produce, a few half gallons of oat milk and 12 packs of hard kombucha if you’re also planning to go shopping at the grocery store during your vacation.
