9 Urgent issues regarding Trump phones and Golden T1 smartphones

One of the few not listed specifications, but an important one, especially in figuring out who is doing it.

What network does Trump Mobile operate?

Trump’s mobile news release claims it works with “all three major carriers,” presumably AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. None of the Big Three responded to inquiries about the nature of their arrangements with Trump’s move. The company’s Terms of Use page only mentions TrumpMobile.com “powered by Liberty Mobile Wireless LLC”. In fact, the entire “planned use of unauthorized use of unlimited services” section of Trump Mobile was copied verbatim from Liberty Mobile’s terms of use, replacing “Trumpmobile.com” in place of the entire “Liberty Mobile.”

It’s not clear what you’ll actually get from Trump mobile devices. Liberty Mobile appears to offer only 4G LTE connectivity, so if this is the only provider of Trump’s mobile devices, as it stated in its terms of use, it’s unclear whether it can reach 5G speeds. It is also possible that Liberty Mobile is an innocent bystander here, and Trump Mobile has just borrowed its terms part.

Even more confusing is that Trump Mobile’s coverage map appears to be an embedding of the coverage map created by Ultra Mobile (MVNO owned by T-Mobile) and runs on T-Mobile’s 5G network.

Liberty Mobile did not respond to a request for comment, and the company’s FAQ page only contains placeholder text. Ultra Mobile did not respond to a request for comment.

Did Trump wake up when he moves?

As others have pointed out on social media, the Trump mobile coverage map clearly shows the Gulf of Mexico, not the preferred “American Gulf” term by Donald Trump. The Trump administration has banned the Associated Press from the White House press conference because the latter refused to use the name of the U.S. Gulf. Although again, this is because it is a map of Ultra Mobile.

Can a T1 smartphone really offer “biometric scanning”?

One of the surprisingly listed benefits of the T1 smartphone is the “biometric scan” and has contactless blood pressure and heart rate monitoring. This seems to be related to the “lifelong view” feature provided by the Doctegrity application. In fact, the extent of Trump Media’s telemedicine products seems to be through the Dostegrity app, which can also be used with any other current smartphone. The personal doctor program starts at $29 per month, so if Trump’s mobile program is $47.45, that’s a good deal. If you have to pay anyway, it’s unclear what Trump promotes here.

The doctor did not respond to a request for comment.

Will Trump’s proposed smartphone tariffs apply to Trump Mobile?

Donald Trump threatens to impose a 25% tariff on all smartphones made in the U.S. as early as this month. A customer service representative told Wired that the phone on Trump’s phone would not be affected, but it is difficult to relate to Trump’s son’s seemingly acknowledgement of the phone at least made overseas, at least at the beginning.

What’s wrong with this privacy policy?

Trump Mobile’s privacy policy allows it to collect data on your search, web browsing, devices and locations from your “AI system”. It also says it has collected (past) “full account credentials” and “mail, email or text content” over the past 12 months. These languages are not original to Trump Mobile. The certificate bit appears to have been borrowed from the Trump Organization, and the data collection section also understands the privacy policies of companies including Neuro and its Neurointelligence and Lumifi.

However, the fact that these parts are complex does not make them more invasive.

Can you refund the money?

In fact, we know the answer to this, again praising Trump’s mobile terms of use: No, you absolutely cannot.
