Artist Rob Sato’s “Earthquake Country”

A new collection of drawings, paintings and collaborative textiles created by Los Angeles artist Rob Sato. Rooted in his practice of everyday painting and dream document, Sato explores the tension between the chaotic forces that shape our existence and the need to rest and recover. The result is a fusion of constructive, abstract and experiment, considering the literal and metaphorical tremor that defines contemporary life:

“Painting is my primary source of play and a primary tool for my observation and thinking. The mark of this work is trying to communicate with the world I encounter every day and make art more intuitive than ever.”

The exhibition highlights Sato’s collaboration with local artists, including Ako Castuera, Graham Keegan and Rosie Brand, who translated Sato’s paintings and paintings into textiles. As we pass through spiritual, physical and cultural turmoil, artwork is an invitation to reflect and reimagine. Check out “Earthquake Country” in the subconscious project in Los Angeles until July 26.
