Unfortunately, it is understandable that the case manufacturers can’t figure out what to do. There are no clear attachment points, so most cases include double-sided tape and a piece of plastic with plastic that you can stick to the back.
If you try to remove it for some reason, I’d be more worried about putting it in a wrong or potentially breaking the kick, rather than having a slight gap on the back of the case. Since I had to swap a bunch of cases, I usually skip this step and in almost all cases the extra piece is just cosmetics. Instead, I briefly tested the included adhesive strips at a position behind the switch to make sure they don’t leave any obvious residue.
