Artlogic, ArtCloud merges to shape the digital backbone of the art world

In the latest signs of integrating the integrated space, inventory management giant Artlogic and Gallery software company ArtCloud will merge to reshape the digital infrastructure that supports the global art market.

The move combines Artlogic’s long-term strength in inventory systems and website solutions (used by over 5,500 customers in 70 countries), Artcloud’s rapid growth in collector engagement tools, AI-Drive capabilities, and integrated payments. The companies now jointly support more than 6,000 galleries, artists and collectors, managing over 15 million artworks.

Artlogic CEO Mike Prof Profure will merge to form long-term consistency rather than short-term land grabs. “We are not combining to compete in the moment game,” he said. “We are building durable, flexible infrastructure to enable galleries, collectors and institutions to make the most of the game in the future.”

Artcloud CEO Alex West will join the merged company’s chief innovation officer, highlighting technology as a money-saving investment in the cost-saving gallery. “We can’t lower their rents, but we can build infrastructure that helps ensure their efforts to grow further,” he said.

The deal was reached in a wave of high-profile mergers and strategic alliances in the art market. Beowolff Capital has proposed a proposal to acquire Artnet, a move that will make the digital market the same as Artsy. Beowolff is now working on Delist Artnet from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange to reshape the digital art market into a private AI-drive ecosystem.

Earlier this month, Winston Arts Group and Artory teamed up to create the Winston Artory Group, pairing traditional evaluation services with blockchain-enabled data analytics, which is actually designed to quantify unquantifiable. Artcloud and Artlogic will continue to operate independently in the short term, while integrating teams and technology behind the scenes.
