Midjourney V1 AI Video Model: Price and How to Try

MidJourney, an image-generating AI platform, has launched its V1 video model:

“It’s fun, easy and beautiful,” the company posted on X on Wednesday. “Buy for $10, this is the first one for Everyone Now available. ”

This seems to be a competitive generation-mining of AI video programs. Openai’s Sora is available for Chatgpt Plus and Pro users at $20 per month or $200 per month, respectively, while Google’s traffic is $249 per month. (Adobe’s Firefly starts at $9.99/month and can accommodate up to 20 five-second videos, while the runway’s Gen-4 Turbo video starts at $12 per month).

Midjourney charges eight times more to create videos, not images, and each job produces four five-second videos. In a blog post on the Midjourney website, founder David Holz explained this and wrote that the price would be difficult to predict. The team will watch how the V1 is used next month and then adjust from there.

Holz calls V1 a “stepping stone” because Midjourney eventually wants to create a “real-time open world simulation.” Holz wrote that this is an image model, a video model of these images, a 3D model, and doing this quickly (real-time model). Midjourney plans to build these models individually and publish them, and is now one of its video models.

Mixable light speed

Midjourney users can create images in the platform as usual, and now press “Anime” to move them. They can choose to do this automatically or manually and choose between low motion (for more environmental scenarios) and high motion. The video can be “expanded” for about four seconds at a time, for a total of four times.

Users can also perform animation images from outside Midjourney. Currently, V1 is only network.

“We require you to use these technologies responsibly,” Holtz wrote.

As Mashable’s Timothy Beck Werth reported for Google’s VEO 3, error message experts sent an alert that AI videos may soon be indistinguishable from real videos. (Recent viral emotional support for Kangaroo videos suggest this is already happening.) The AI generation has been used by bad actors, such as creating clear deep fruits (now federal crime in the United States)

“It’s not only fun to use it correctly, but it can be really useful and even profound – to make the new world suddenly alive.”

V1 was initiated in a recent Disney lawsuit and Universal Pictures lawsuit against Midjourney. The lawsuit claims the platform illegally trained copyrighted content and called Midjourney a “bottomless stealing pit.”

Disclosure: Mashable’s parent company Ziff Davis filed a lawsuit against Openai in April, accusing it of infringing on Ziff Davis’ copyright in training and operating its AI systems.
