I’m Jeff Altman, the big game hunter, head coach of Jobs search. welcome. You know, I have been a recruiter for over 40 years, and have held over 1,200 positions and consulting tasks throughout my career. And, you know, one thing I know is that when people aren’t prepared for interview questions, people can hurt their candidacy.

Now, in my podcast, without BS job search advice, I spent a year helping people with interviews and answering tough interview questions. This is one of the tempting questions or requests. Tell me some negative news about our company is a problem.

Now, if this company is in the media, you can’t say that I haven’t heard of your company yet. If so, this seems like a bastard. And, you know, sometimes a company is looking for scouting, for example, what is our Scuttlebutt? But when pushing, there is no real way to win.

So here are a few suggested approaches. If they are in the media in a negative way, you can say, you know, I’ve read some news accounts. Who won’t read these news accounts? These days they are all media.

And, you know, obviously, the company has some struggles, but that offers some opportunities and make a difference for people like me. That’s the person who targets the leadership role. For the role of an employee, you can do something similar, but all in all, you know, you know, but this gives me the challenge of joining an employee personally, to contribute and be a strong performance that may change some public awareness of the organization.

Again, leaders, employees. Now, if you don’t have anything to research a company online, for example, I haven’t seen the latest information about your organization. You know, that’s not to say that I’m outside trying to say, OK, tell me all the bad things you’ve heard about the company.

You know, I have some friends and some comments about you. I did a quick Google search. Everything seemed to be organized.

There is nothing here to scare me or anyone else. Then let it continue. Even if you have heard of something from a friend or former employee, it is a bad sign, even if you have heard of any details.

They don’t want to hear it. This is the truth. All it does is make them worry about making an offer to you and you will refuse.

So just do the skirt in a very casual way. Avoid really getting into any details. You will do a good answer.

Hope you’ve helped this. Similarly, Jobsearch.Community. And if you’re interested in my one-on-one coaching, because this is really where I do most of my work, please email Jeffaltman to thebiggamehunter.us. In the subject line, say the word “coach”. I look forward to helping you.

Have a nice day. careful.
