Coursera wins the Achievement Award for Newsweek AI Impact in in Commercial Learning

I am pleased to announce that Coursera has won the Newweek AI Impact Award for AI Education: Best Achievement, Business Learning. The award recognizes innovations that use AI to address critical business challenges and deliver measurable impact.
Coach is an AI-driven personal tutor designed to make online learning more personal, interactive and effective for millions of learners around the world. It is powered by large language models and uniquely rooted from course material from top institutions such as Stanford, Yale University and Google. By providing a personal tutor who provides continuous support in 26 different languages in Coursera’s catalog, coaches can help learners get more involved in the course regardless of their background. Since its first launch, coaches have exchanged more than 34 million letters with more than 2.4 million learners.

Coach Beta started in April 2023 (six months after Chatgpt’s release) – I’m very excited about how it represents an important step forward in achieving personalized and accessible learning. From the initial pilot on the 2023 speech page to refine UX to 2024 video descriptions, practice questions, practice pre-preparation and course navigation, we continue to enhance coaching to support more learners with greater personalization, accessibility, accessibility and impact across the platform. With coaches, learners around the world, especially those served by traditional education systems, can learn more effectively the skills they need to unlock economic opportunities.
