Google’s latest Chromebook Plus comes with free AI features

Google today announced the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, considering it to be the “standard-of-the-art Chromebook Plus” and matches it with advanced specifications. It has two exclusive AI features along with 12 free Google AI Pros, which include access to advanced AI tools such as VEO 3 FAST, GEMINI 2.5 Pro, and Flow.

This 14-inch Clamshell-style computer features Mediatek’s new high-end Kompanio Ultra processor, which has up to 50 top NPUs (trillions of operations per second to quantify AI performance). Chromebook Plus 14 has two unique AI software features that can be leveraged: Smart Grouping, a project management tool that categorizes users’ open tabs by task, while AI image editing is performed in the Gallery application. It will be the longest Chromebook Plus boot, offering up to 17 hours of battery life per charge.

Later this month, the Chromebook Plus 14 will be available in two configurations in Lenovo and Best Buy, for $649 and $749 respectively.

Chromebooks or Chromeos-based laptops have come a long way since basic old cars in the early 2010s. Google introduced Chromebook Plus certification in October 2023, which accelerated. The label is suitable for models with enhanced functionality and specification requirements, helping shoppers easily identify more powerful machines. The Chromebook Plus 14 debuts along with several new AI-driven features and updates from the Chromebook Plus series that begin rolling out today on all models:
