Grilled Sriracha Barbecue Chicken Recipe
Growing up in New England, I didn’t eat a lot of spicy food. As an adult, I took this opportunity to incorporate more spicy food into my diet, so this is Sriracha BBQ Chicken!
Sriracha BBQ Sauce can be used on chicken thighs, chicken breasts, and even pork! The chicken cooks quickly on the grill, so it’s perfect for busy weekdays when you need a quick, nutritious dinner. Pair this sticky chicken and corn on sticks, coleslaw, potatoes and even rice for a smoky dinner that everyone will love.

What is a Sriracha chicken?
Sriracha is a delicious spicy sauce that is commonly used in Thai and Vietnamese cooking. The main ingredient that makes up this sauce is red pepper, which provides sauces for sauces, garlic and vinegar. If you like spicy food like me, then Sriracha sauce is a kitchen staple!
Tips for barbecue Sriracha BBQ Chicken
Here are some quick tips to make sure your barbecue chicken shows up perfectly:
- Pickled: I recommend marinating the chicken for at least 3 hours, or stay overnight if you can! The longer you marinate, the more the chicken tastes.
- brush: If you like chicken sauce, feel free to cook the chicken on the grilled chicken so the sauce is caramelized.
- Make chicken skewers: Cut the chicken into cubes and put it on chili, pineapple and grill with metal or wooden skewers.
Making Sriracha BBQ Chicken in the Oven
No grill? Make this recipe in the oven instead! The following are:
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Spray the oven safe glass cooking tray with non-stick cooking spray. Place the marinated chicken on a plate and cook in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes until fully cooked. When there is no pink meat and the center is white, you will know that the chicken is completely cooked.
Can I make this recipe in a frying pan?
Absolutely! First, get rid of the excess marinade and place the chicken thighs in a hot skillet. Then, cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked and browned. For extra flavor, you can brush the chicken with Sriracha BBQ sauce for the last minute or two of cooking, or place it on the side.

Chicken is a safe choice when cooking for children. Kids are sensitive to strong flavors, so if you are making this Sriracha recipe for your kids, you should reduce the amount of spices added. This could mean making two separate dips: one without Sriracha and one offering Sriracha for adults.
Can I add more calories to the chicken?
Depending on your favorite spicy taste, add 1-2 tablespoons of Sriracha sauce to the marinade. If you like, you can add some red pepper flakes to increase the heat.
