The grooved stuff is a combination of Bluetooth speakers and vibrators, because why not?

Human nature is Within the scope, everyone should have a sex toy when it comes to various sexual desires. This is the best part about sex technology, and there is always something interesting popping up on the market. Groove Thing is the latest, and today is Kickstarter, which the company sells as the “world’s first in-house music player.”

It blends the hi-fi audio of your favorite songs with internal vibrations. As a sex toy critic and former college radio DJ, I started the game right away. The company sent me a prototype version to test before Kickstarter was released – this is not a complete review because it is a pre-production unit and Wired doesn’t like to make clear statements about crowd-funded products before the company starts shipping to customers. Groove Thing is a new company, and like all Kickstarter launches, it has risks that it cannot provide. That is, this internal music player is in his own category.

When I opened the package, I immediately understood why Groove Thing’s PR team has always called it “the ugly box” because the hardware is ugly, rough and unfinished. Sex technology has come a long way and people expect their toys, whether they are vibrators, dildos or ass plugs, to be pleasant. But this is a prototype, so I’ll pass. The company assured me that the final version would look better and slightly different from what I received.

There is dial on the side of the main speaker, as well as a round puck and two small speakers. There are also two internal accessories: one for vaginal use and the other for anal use. These accessories adhere to the puck and then inserted into the body. None of these internal parts are made of body-safe plastic (the final product will be), so the grooved stuff includes a large bag of condoms and lubricating bags so I can safely test the system. I don’t care about the shape of the butt plug, so I stick with the G-spot stimulator. Judging from the appearance of the bulb head, I know this is what I best suits me in comfort and stimulation.

According to the instructions, I inserted the grooved stuff into the wall (yes, you need to be very close to the socket), paired it into my phone via Bluetooth, and inserted the condom-wrapped G-spot vibrator into me. The accessory is also connected to the speaker, which means making a fuss with the cable.

As the instructions show, I tried the introductory playlist. With Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles and Dua Lipa, I know that won’t do much for me. But what I discovered in my brief trekking into commercial pop music is that music with bass is essential to the intention of the creator who truly experiences the groove.

As the notch’s instructions emphasize over and over again, this is not a device designed to get you out of the situation and even sure to give you an orgasm. Instead, the focus is on listening to your favorite songs while enjoying the journey, or more specifically, feeling the bass and percussion of your inner music. For me, these songs are from Mogwai and Godspeed your post-rock band! Black Emperor. But, while I can repeat for hours listening to those bands, I can’t say that feeling the inner bass is particularly pleasant.

While I did explore a few songs and tried different volumes to make my inner strength different, which was done by dialing on the grooved stuff, I quickly lost interest. You just lie there while the vagina (or anal) attachment bounces into your g-point (or p-point) with the beat of any song. The motor is also noisy and I find it distracting. It can be ironed with finished products.

While that’s not a big deal to me, I can see how this kind of sex toy that emphasizes musical fun attracts others. I have a little unhealthy obsession with music, but there is a difference between trying to feel the songs I like on my vagina or ass. I never thought about it, now that I’ve gone through it, I don’t care much about it. The expected final MSRP of $275 is no help. It’s a lot of dough for a product that doesn’t even let you go.

If music and sex are closely intertwined with you, the grooved thing may be interesting to you. But let’s be clear about one thing – this is hardly the first internal music player. There are many other presences, such as Ohmibod’s Freestyle G Music Vibrator, LoveHoney’s Juno Music activated vibrating butt plug, or Loveense vulse. The Groove thing would say that its vibration is more dynamic, maybe it is true, but for me it isn’t enough to keep the music going.
