A 1,000-room Hyatt Regency with a casino may come to Manhattan

For now, it’s a gamble, but Hyatt could soon be linked to a large development in New York City that could introduce the first casino to Manhattan.
Over the past few years, development and gaming companies across the United States have been planning to win the “table gaming casino” of one of three potential New York New York gaming entertainment companies.
One of these bids is Avenir, a large gaming and entertainment complex proposed by Silverstein Properties, Rush Street Gaming and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment. According to the developer’s statement, the Avenir program is located on the far west side of Manhattan near Manhattan and Hudson’s yards and will consist of 785-foot-tall buildings that include a casino, multiple bars and restaurants, event spaces, spas, a spa, a fitness center, fitness center, outdoor pool and entertainment venues.
If built, it will also be home to the 1000-room hotel in Hyatt.
In the early stages of the partnership (a letter of intent signed between the two parties), we know about Avenir’s hotel section, “The luxury suite will be decorated with high-quality finishes and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer views of the New York City skyline.” The development also said it chose Hyatt as a partner to leverage the company’s successful hotel project history near the Javits Center, as well as the main convention center of the Hyatt Loyalty Program, as well as more than 56 million loyal members.
Avenir has also announced plans to work with major restaurant groups such as Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group and Starr Restaurants, a well-known restaurant like Pastis, to introduce food and beer concepts with casinos, hotels and entertainment venues.

Whether the project became a reality or not, this is not the first time Hyatt has entered the New York City casino. Queens’ only in-city casino New York City is also home to the Hyatt Regent Airport at the New York State Resort Pavilion.
The New York State Games Commission is expected to announce three winners of the new license by December 2025 or until December 2025. Until recently, other major bids from New York City casino giants Wynn Resorts and Las Vegas Sands were expected, according to CNBC.
The remaining bids include two existing casinos in the area (including the aforementioned resort world), as well as new construction projects in Coney Island and Caesars Palace in Times Square supported by hip-hop stars Jay-Z and Roc Nation.
