Cape Air Backfills Jetblue’s drop Boston Long Island route extends with 5 routes

Regional airline Cape Air recently left a gap at JetBlue Airways at Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), part of a wider five-way expansion this summer.

Cape Air said in a statement that the airline will connect the ISP to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) four times a day starting July 3. These flights will run on the airline’s new nine-seat Tecnam P2012 Traveler Props aircraft.

The ISP is approximately 1 1/2 hours drive east of Manhattan Times Square.

JetBlue launched New York’s Boston to the long island in April, pausing it in less than two weeks later. The airline continues to serve ISP’s Fort Lauderdale-Gollywood International Airport (FLL), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).

Cape Air is a JetBlue partner, and travelers can earn true blue loyalty points on Cape Air flights booked through the JetBlue website.

However, Cape Airlines’ new Long Island flights have not yet been covered by the partnership.

Cape Air has also added four new routes to its New England map, including a new airport. On June 13, the airline opened a seasonal weekend service between Westchester County Airport (HPN) and Provincetown Municipal Airport (PVC) north of New York City. This route is the only uninterrupted between the New York regional airport and the popular cod destination.

Cape Air will be logged in for the first time at Norwood Memorial Airport (OWD) in the southwest of Boston suburbs on July 3. It will offer seasonal flights to Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY) and Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) in summer.

On September 29, Cape Air will contact the BOS twice a day at Massachusetts New Bedford Regional Airport (EWB). These flights are included in the airline’s partnership with JetBlue and can be booked on the latter’s website.

  • Boston Lake Island: Four flights throughout the year starting from July 3
  • Boston – New Bedford: September 29, two flights throughout the year
