How to book accommodation in Marriott’s Postcard Lodge with points

Postcard cabin began integrating it into the Marriott Hotel’s Bonvoy program in May after it was acquired by Marriott in 2024. At that time, only a few postcard cabins were available for reservations at 29 locations nationwide through Marriott Bonvoy, and points redemption was not available.
Now, the full portfolio of Postcard Cabins can be booked with cash or points via Marriott Bonvoy, which costs less than $150 or $27,000 in Bonvoy points per night (plus taxes and fees). Staying in the Postcard Cabin will also earn points and Elite Night points at Marriott’s standard rate.
If you haven’t covered the brand yet, the Postcard’s cabin is a luxurious cabin that allows travelers to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort or convenience. Each private cottage is between two and four guests and features a fully stocked kitchen, spa-inspired bathroom products and outdoor seating areas where you can dine in the evening or cause a comfortable fire at night.

The postcard’s cabin location is within two hours’ drive of major cities like Los Angeles, Seattle, New York and Boston, so you’re surrounded by nature, but never far away (or from the airport).
Now that the postcard’s cabin is fully integrated with Marriott Bonvoy, there are several ways to book your next glittering adventure with points.
Book a postcard cabin with credit card points
In addition to Marriott Bonvoy points that you earn directly from holding a cobranded Marriott credit card, you can transfer points to Marriott Bonvoy from several popular credit card points programs, including Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards and Bilt Rewards.

You can transfer points from any of these programs to the Marriott Hotel’s Bonvoy account and use these points to book your stay. Unless there is a transfer bonus, all transfer rates are 1:1 between these programs.

Book a postcard cabin through the credit card portal
Instead of booking directly through Marriott, you can also book a postcard cabin via your favorite credit card travel portal. The postcard cabin is currently only booked through the Chase Travel Portal and not the American Express Travel Portal.
Despite changes to the Chase Travel portal this month, if you are the Sapphire Preferential or Sapphire Reserve cardholder until June 23, you can still redeem the final reward points at a price of 1.25 or 1.5 cents per point respectively. However, the fixed rates through the travel portal will end on October 27, 2027.
If you are a Chase Sapphire cardholder after June 23, your points can be redeemed at a rate of 1 cent per point unless the postcard cabin location is available for points, which will allow eligible cardholders to redeem up to 2 cents per point.
The example above shows the sapphire preference redemption when booking through Chase Travel Portal. You can book for $668.82 or 53,505 Chase Ultimate Rewards points for two nights stop at Western Catskills, which will give you a value of 1.25 cents per point.
The cash price is slightly higher than the cash price you are a member of the Marriott hotel you book directly, but this also gives you the option to redeem annual travel credit if you have a qualified chase card.
Should you transfer the point to a Marriott hotel or make a reservation through the travel portal?
If you booked two nights on the Marriott website in August, stopping at Western Catskills at Postcard Cabins West, it will be $640 ($668 for non-members) or 155,000 million. This will give you a value of 0.4 cents per point.
TPG value AMEX membership reward points are 2 cents per point, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are 2.05 cents per point, and Bonvoy Marriott Boint Points is 0.7 cents at our June 2025 valuation. So if you transfer your credit card points to Marriott Bonvoy, you will lose more than half of your reward value.
Although you will lose the value of some points if you book through the Chase Travel Portal, it is still better than using a Marriott Point or transfer credit card points.
Bottom line
At the Postcard Hut, you can drink morning coffee by a campfire, take a long hike in the woods, and spend the night, staring at a star-filled sky without having to set up a tent every day or give up on hot showers.
Also, escaping from big cities doesn’t have to spend a lot of money. Now you can book your next vacation full of nature with Marriott Point or Transfer Credit Card Point.
