Information Interview: Short script requirements for web emails
Information interviews are a great way to expand the network. They had a 15-minute, maybe a 20-minute conversation with someone, and ideally you could find more information about what you are interested in. But it’s also a portal to other network connections. You can use information interviews to talk to former employees of the company about the feeling of working there, at least their favorite thing is their favorite thing and then start from there, but you want to chat with the people you are talking to. Let me give you some ideas for questions you can ask.
Assume you are a planning manager or developer and you want to schedule an information interview. You are in contact with people you have a real or even marginal connection with. You arrange time to meet them. “Connect” is actually about professional affairs. The reason for this is that they know something you don’t know.
You may ask them the following questions
How did you participate (fill in the blanks)? Did you chat with them for a minute or two?
What do you like the most? You have been chatting for a while. You ask some simple follow-up questions.
What do you like at least? Then you talked.
Then, I started to switch gears and asked, “Who else knows who I might talk to? I’m trying to gather information because I’m thinking about pursuing this direction
If I use your name and contact them, isn’t it?
Of course, they might say.
The last question here is “You’re willing to call them and give them a guy I might call them.” If they don’t want to, that’s fine.
Then, follow up on the next person, learn more, and start the process of building relationships with someone who may be an absolute stranger and/or in this field or with you or a company you have a little connection with, which can lead to something.
Again, all you have to do is collect information to help you. 15, 20 minutes. Very casual. You never mention these words. I’m looking for a job.
adapt!
