“Phinas and Ferb” creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff’Swampy’ Marsh reveal the last pass that makes fans like

Watching infinite success Phineas and Ferbit’s hard to imagine creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh had to fight for their existence and integrity.

The Disney Channel series premiered in 2007, aired 137 episodes in four seasons and triggered two movies at the pace of TV movies and video games. These characters became iconic in their own time, a few years later, as the show’s children’s fans became more and more adults to Tiktokking. When Disney+ was launched in 2019, the show quickly became a streaming service favorite years after the Season 4 finale. So the studio asked Povenmire and Marsh to come back for the fifth season, 10 years after Season 4!

Phineas and Ferb Before its premiere, it was a dream project for 16 years.

“A friend of mine once told me that the greatest power you can have in Hollywood is a creativity – as someone who doesn’t hold a wallet – keeping the ability to be able to stay away from something.

He shared for a moment, almost walking away, and he continued, “We don’t have to use it often. But there was a time when pilots tested really well.” However, Disney executives made changes, including redesigning the character to make it “more attractive.” After three meetings with such notes, Povenmire has had enough.

He recalled: “I finally pulled an executive aside and said, ‘You know, you can do whatever show you want because you bought it. [working on Family Guy]you can participate in the performance.

Povenmere pointed out: “I don’t mean it. [After that]they just started to postpone everything to us. ”

Regarding why they didn’t say anything under the pressure of this studio, Marsh mused: “Probably because we’ve been selling for 13 years. The urgency has gone. We’ve been waiting for so long.”

Still, there are other battles. “The things we fight for are things we really believe in. Most are – I think for us – the audience who believe in children is smarter – smarter than most people who give them honors. So these tend to be things we tend to be, and we think we deserve to fight for.”

He added that fans appreciated the trust, saying: “I’m glad it was [for] Almost all of these things, we have multiple people coming to us, ‘I want to thank you for that. ”

In the show, Phineas and Ferb are step brothers, Candace and Phineas’ mom married to Ferb’s father. This mixed family is not a problem for Disney executives. However, the word “divorce” is actually used in the show.

“We don’t know that the word ‘divorce’ has never been used on Disney Channel [shows] Marsh explained. “Someone said, ‘You know, we can’t say that.’ And my personal situation, my mom is currently in the seventh place in husband…this makes [note] It’s really personal to me. I thought, ‘Look, half of your audience lives in the situation you say it is so terrible that the word is impossible. You can’t do that. ‘”

Povenmire added: “They were like, ‘If one of our audiences, parents were divorced, what would happen?” I said, “I’m sure that’s it.” They said, “Okay, what would happen?” I was like, “That’s it?” I was like, “then they’ll see, they’ll feel represented.”

The swamp continued: “We had a few really great executives working with us and really advocated for the show, they really listened to us, listened to our arguments and then came back and said, ‘You made a big point. Go.

But, Povenmire noted: “And then, in the next episode, what we want to say is that Doofenshmirtz got a maintenance fee from Charlene because she was independent and rich. Then, we had to go to three or four more sessions to see if we could say a torthimony in the show.”

In the end, they can and do it.

The swamp points out that Disney’s repeated concerns are Phineas and Ferb It may “overtake the head of the child’s target audience”. He explained: “We have to say, it’s OK. We also admit that there are parents, aunts, uncles or grandparents in the room, or who can provide them with something, too.”

“At that time, 40% of our audience became adults and they no longer gave us that note.”
