The free Nintendo Switch 2 Switch 1 game upgrade is better than expected

While we wait for more Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, it’s worth taking some time to test a handful of old Switch 1 games on the new console.
Now that the Switch 2 has been in front of consumers for several weeks, many have had time to widely test the performance of various games on new and more powerful consoles. Specifically, the excellent digital casting YouTube channel has released a nearly 40-minute video showing several Switch 1 games how they get free switch 2 upgrade patches and run on the new platform.
Their findings are also available in Eurogamer’s article form, so no matter what way you like to consume Internet content, it can work here.
The top story of chaos
My favorite Nintendo Switch 2 accessory is the Belkin Charging Box
DF test games include The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and The echo of wisdomtwo games notorious Frame rate issue on the first switch. They found (and I can confirm myself) that not only do the two games run at a higher and clearer resolution than before, but now they lock perfectly at 60 frames per second. Another big one is Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Anger. That game is Bowser’s anger The additions are very good, but running on switch 1 so poorly that it locks it to 30fps in handheld mode. Of course, this is no longer the case. You can get locked 60fps in docking and handheld games with great resolution.
There are more, but these are just some examples of how the Switch 2’s more powerful hardware significantly improves older games that might be skipped due to performance issues. I will, too high It is recommended to check the patched version Pokémon Scarlet and Violetwhich is probably the biggest improvement.
Mario Karting World Great, but it just shows that it’s related to your Switch 2 right now.
