Editorial credit of Chase Sapphire Reserve: What to know

If you are Chase SapphireReserve® (See Rates and Fees) Cardholders, you may be familiar with Chase’s “Chase Premium Collection” with over 1,000 properties available for booking through ChaseTravel℠.

If you haven’t explored what you can keep with editing, peek. Some of these properties are expensive – Like the Chilean desert oasis Tierra Atacama, the price is $2,860 per night. Others are more affordable – for example, the Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, which costs about $279 per night.

Your sapphire reserve includes privileges that provide real value and is easy to use. Now, as part of the recent refresh of the card, Sapphire Conservation Area Cardholders can enjoy a $500 editorial credit.

Here’s what you need to know to maximize the value of editing credit Sapphire Conservation Area.

Chase Sapphire retains edit credit details

The $500 Chase Travel credit sold is “editor credit” for Sapphire Reserve (applicable for at least two nights of prepaid) – not available at one time.

Cardholders will automatically receive a maximum of $250 declared credit between January 1 and June 30, and $250 between July 1 and December 31 each year. As long as you book your home’s accommodation in Chase’s curated editing portfolio, you’ll see a credit launch in six to eight weeks (although several TPG employees report seeing similar credit posts very quickly).

If you have authorized users in your account, their chase travel purchases may trigger credit. Keep this in mind if you specify the property you want to use this credit.

Existing cardholders will not have immediate access to $500 editorial credit. Instead, we have to wait until October 26. New cardholders can start using their credit immediately after they arrive at their card in mail.

Privileges to book a booking include:

  • $100 property credit
  • Daily breakfast
  • Room upgrade (if any)
  • Early checkout and party checkout (if any)

All trips booked through Chase Travel (including edited bookings) now earn 8 points per dollar, which is better than the first 5 points spent on flights, but down from the first 10 points per dollar spent on hotels and car rentals.

But similar to the popular $300 travel credit (not having to be used in Chase Travel), a $500 editorial credit won’t earn the final reward points. Once you run out of editing credit, you will start to earn points purchased by Chase Travel.

How to maximize editing credit on sapphire reserves
