Parker Hyatt Vancouver to open in 2026

The former Shangri-La-Vancouver has moved to Hyatt World and is currently operating in downtown Alberney in downtown Vancouver. However, the Hyatt press release notes that once a “million-dollar redesign” enhances and enhances the hotel’s guest rooms, residential-style lobbies, public places and spas, the property will become a Vancouver park sometime in 2026.

119 room properties at 1128 Georgia Street, downtown Vancouver, British Columbia are currently available for reservation through Hyatt World as a Class 7 property. According to the world of Hyatt Awards, award nights in downtown Vancouver should cost 25,000 to 35,000 per night in standard rooms, 43,000 to 53,000 per night in standard suites, 50,000 to 70,000 per night in premium suites. However, as of publication, there are no reward nights.

You can book a paid rate through downtown Vancouver in downtown Hyatt World The Alberni, which is about $478 per night. Here is an overview of the six rooms the property is currently selling:

  • One-bedroom Superior Suite with Sofa Bed (825 sq. ft corner kit)

Since the property will be renovated until it reopens to Hyatt Regency Parks, be sure to read any notes about the home page or throughout the booking process to determine if the renovation could ruin your accommodation. You may even want to call the property to see what types of renovations will continue when your accommodation is close to and requesting a room away from noise.

Since the property is already a Class 7 pre-warranty, I can only assume that it renames it to the Park Hyatt Regency and it will be Class 8. So you might want to book now (or have ever opened a reward booking) for mid-2026, hoping you will get a refurbished room type, or, before the date of your stay arrives, the property will be renamed.
