The Real Feeling of Using Hyatt Privileges in Standard Hotels

It’s big news when the world of Hyatt does everything possible to extend its reach globally – a lot has happened lately. Hyatt is one of our favorite hotel loyalty programs, and sometimes expansion creates exciting new opportunities for earning and redeeming points.

Meanwhile, when hotel families are fully integrated with Hyatt’s often with fantastic reward lists and elite benefits lists, some of these changes may disappoint you, and take more affiliation than a fully integrated approach than other brands.

So when the hip, interesting Standard Hotel recently started joining the Hyatt family world, I was cautiously optimistic. If you are not familiar with standard hotels, know that they are actually standard things. They are usually located in interesting places like the High Line and East Village of New York City, Maldives, London, Bangkok and Singapore.

I was mostly a point and miles girl, so I didn’t actually stay at the standard hotel before my recent trip because the brand was not part of the main loyalty program before.

After a few nights, I can guarantee that the standard lives up to the reputation of fashion, a little edgy and not afraid of partying…until the case of Le Bain on the top floor of the high line position until 4am. (PSSST: If possible, please stay away from the floor at the 18th floor club.)

But that’s not what I went there to find out. I went to see what was a Hyatt member world and hoped to use my perspective and allowance in the meat packaging area of ​​New York City.

Use the Hyatt Point at a Standard Hotel

Although not all, Standard Hotels are indeed part of the Hyatt World program now, meaning they are on the rewards table with a fixed point price. From my experience and research, the availability of standard rooms is usually comparable to that of most other Hyatt properties.

On a busy weekend in June, I was able to book a room with two double beds on a standard standard bed at 25,000 a night, when the cash rate was over $600 a night, which made the TPG Points valuation very well redeemed. (Note that I now consider a queen-size bed as the room type that usually uses the Hyatt Point of the property, rather than the more diverse room types available when I first joined the Hyatt program.

The chart for complying with the Hyatt Award is Great News, not for granted, especially considering that the Lady Smith Hotel and the luxurious attractions of canvas do not follow the rewards table. These attributes also use dynamic reward pricing, even if they are the world of the Hyatt family.

But while most standard hotels are great on regular rewards lists, please note that some of them, including the one I have in New York City, are excluded from Hyatt’s typical kit upgrade rules. This means you won’t be able to secure a suite with Globalist Suite upgrades or a fixed number of points.

Fees exempt, checkout and bonus points

When we arrived it was after check-in time so it was not surprising that our room was ready. But because of our Hyatt Globalist identity, it was a pleasant surprise when we were late for check-in at 4pm.

Since we stayed at Hyatt Point, we also avoided the $35 daily destination fee (all Hyatt members stayed on points) and not only enjoyed 5 Hyatt points per dollar on eligible fees, but also received a 30% bonus, but in addition to that, getting globalist status plus my 4 points to pay 4 points on my 4 points The World of Hyatt Credit Cards (See rates and fees).

I also had to look at another brand of Hyatt brand Explorer Promo, which awarded a free 1-4 category reward night for every five brands tried in the Hyatt ecosystem. Fortunately, Standard, Standardx and Bunkhouse will count as three separate brands, giving you more options to win more brand Explorer awards.

Due to my Hyatt Globalist status, I am a sucker for free breakfast, and the standard high line exceeds the standard morning lineup of the standard grill, green and yellow juices, egg Norweigan and gruyere and-bacon omelettes and other options.

We ate outside for a day, one day and another overlooking the lively sidewalk. During the two days we had about $120 a day to eliminate our bills because Hyatt Globalist identity covers free breakfast for up to two adults and two kids in the room (meals in New York City are not cheap).

At checkout we were told we were charged two days of tips, which was great for us, but this was a little different in the Hyatt system.

Bottom line

Our weekends enjoyed our Hyatt points and allowances, and the High Line in New York City was fun.
