Other thermal protectors we try

R+CO BLEU Hypersonic thermal styling fog, priced at $36: Early in testing, the high-tech aerosol in this renewable aluminum bottle was the most popular aerosol – I like its properties that protect up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and its frizzy. However, it does smooth the hair with polymer and resin composites, and over time I noticed it leaves a sticky residue on my hands and heat tools.
Sutra Heat Guard Bresot Cream, priced at $24: I love Sutra’s IR2 hair removal, so I have high expectations. This thick and almost fragrance-free cream is designed to protect 450 degrees Fahrenheit and reduce drying time, but my hair feels dry after use.
The perfect defensive thermal protector for the Moroccan cavalry, priced at $15 (2 oz): All Argan products are infused with argan oil, and this spray protects 450 degrees Fahrenheit, which is no exception. It can be used on wet or dry hair and is very lightweight – I think it feels and is like light hair spray, for better or worse. I don’t like this smell or super-drinking mist – I’m actually worried that it will dry hair, but that’s not the case.

Pure instant fog floating $32:Pureology is known for hair specifically treated for color, so I hope this will be an excellent solution, and it will be a great solution for those who don’t want to risk spoiling its expensive highlights or Balayage. However, it seems to leave a dull residue, and neither my short hair tester nor my short hair tester found a lot of features very effective.
IGK Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray, priced at $38: This aerosol feels like it makes my hair dry a little and has the same unpleasant smell as the 4-in-1 (above). I don’t care about the liquid spray, but it overwhelms in the form of an aerosol cloud.
Milk_shake Lifestying Amazing Anti-Humidity Spray, Priced at $28 and $24 for smoothing cream: I like Milk_shake as a brand, these products are good, but not enough to stand out to be the first choice.
Sutra Heat Guard Heat Protector is priced at $18: This pump spray is easy to be known and has a bright taste and seems to be expected to be used on dry hair, but is the same as Briogeo’s Gearlwell Frizz. Even after passing through multiple times in high temperatures, my hair is difficult to manage and will not cooperate with flat iron.
Milk_shake Lifestyleling Thermo Protector, priced at $40: I usually like milk-padded products, but this aerosol spray is like drying my hair and enlarging my already hard-to-handle frizz after blow-drying. It hasn’t added a discernible sheen as promised.
foxybae cool AF thermal protectant + biotin price is $16: I love the pleasant design of this pump spray bottle and the fact that it can be used on wet or dry hair. However, it doesn’t seem to work as well as other brands and uses greasy use on dry hair.

$28: I like the fact that the Biolage brand and can use it on wet or dry hair (although no temperature limit is given). However, whether I use wet or dry, I will find a part of my hair stiff. However, some online reviewers find that they really like setting curls.
Briogeo Greenwell Frizz Bolddry Perfectry & Heat Protectant Creme is priced at $26: My hair is thick and unruly, and this cream protector feels like it actually makes my hair difficult to manage and stym. It might tell how effective it is, but I feel like I have to use too much titanium flat iron to raise it to the maximum temperature.
Reverie Milk Anti-Frizz Leave-Benefitting Treatment, priced at $44: I love the spicy plant-like smell of this cream, the stylish glass bottle, and it protects up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (according to Reverie; according to Reverie; it doesn’t say that on the bottle). It works well, but unfortunately, half the price is too much.
Cloud 9 Miracle Repair 3 in 1 $28 and Cloud 9 Blow-out Dry Serum, $26: People are binging about Cloud 9 online, and I really like the vibration hair of Parent Brand Beautopia, but in my tests, neither of these products did a lot to reduce frizz.

$36: This no-wash mist protects Darazia (Wahrenheit) 450 degrees and is designed to work with a new cleaning method throughout the hairstyle ($64) involving a detergent-free “cleaning cream”. I tried it and it reminded me of the early “no” movements, where the bureaucracy shampooed away from modern shampoos to provide more natural options like baking soda. This method is not for everyone, but if you do try it, I don’t think the fog is enough to justify the cost.
Chi 44 iron protection is $19: The stalwart of this pharmacy works great to prevent heat while also suppressing frizz, while the new plant happiness odor is an improvement to the original formula. However, it left a sticky residue on my hands and the heat tool.
R+CO Chain Mail Thermal Protection Styling Spray, Priced at $36: I appreciate the ability of this spray to add a lot of visible light, but the aerosol nozzle is not as targeted as I wanted it to produce such a wide range of quality mists that it is nearly impossible not to breathe it. I also found a scent like Gurogue.
FAQ
How does thermal protectants work?
The composition varies, but most heat protectants work the same way: by deploying ingredients such as copolymers or silicone to reduce (although not completely stop) heat conduction on the hair shaft. Many thermal protectors also include moisturizers to help seal and smooth the cuticle to reduce frizz. Because the thermal protectant can only slow down, rather than stop completely, heat damage, it is still important to use the lowest heat setting in the shortest time.
How do we test it?
I wash my 3A curls twice a week and then blow dry and follow up with straightened iron. I use straightened iron to trim my hair every day. Over four months, I tested the thermal protectant in this guide in my normal daily life. I used each product on damp hair or before straightening the iron before blow-drying, which is shown by the instructions. If you can use the product on wet and dry hair, I’ve tried both methods.
What’s next to it?
I’ll test Tresemme’s protective hot keratin smoothing spray, Redken’s quick blowout, and Neqi’s products.
