The best Prime Day MacBook is clear at a glance:
Amazon Prime Day lasts until Friday, July 11, and as a resident laptop expert at Mashable, my mission is to find the best Apple MacBook deals. My job so far is really easy: most of Amazon’s discounts in the M4 series have been around for weeks.
There are some notable exceptions. As we entered the second half of Prime Day, there are now four MacBook Pros (and 1 MacBook Air) that cost between $2 and $38.49 less than the original sale price. They still don’t have the best deals recorded – no MacBook has this golden day – but this can be verified for anyone who postponed their purchases.
If you ask me to choose the absolute favorite MacBook deal for Prime Day 2025, I’d opt for the base M4 MacBook Air hovering over $849. On June 20, the color scheme of “Starlight” briefly dropped to $829, but I am very comfortable approving of its slightly higher golden day price. Even for $999, this laptop is actually a steal. Amazon’s decision to cut an additional $150 after its launch was incredible for me.
Prime Day 2025: Real-time updates in the highest transaction
In the MacBook Pros, the best deal I’ve found so far is a $250 discount on the 14-inch M4 model, which has 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. According to price-tracking site CamelCamelCamel, three random drops in May to $1,715.05, but otherwise its best daily price of $1,749 is the biggest discount since its launch.
I also want to mention that today Amazon only carries the full M4 series. If you want to make a good deal on a MacBook in the M2 or M3 era, check out Best Buy, the Best Buy is a “Black Friday July” sale, and as of Wednesday you can buy the 699m2 MacBook Air here. Finally, you can find a relatively old M1 MacBook Air at Walmart for $599. This once-flyer laptop doesn’t meet modern performance standards, but technically, it’s the lowest price you can get on a new Apple laptop in the golden date.

Mashable’s Stan Schroeder calls the latest MacBook Air “the best Apple laptop to buy”, praising its quiet charm, upgraded camera, “excellent” battery life and an extremely reasonable starting price (again, Amazon cuts another 15% off). The only drawback, he believes, is that “there are few ports and the display has a refresh rate of only 60Hz.” The base model has 16GB of memory and 256GB of SSD storage. We also like this laptop for its incredible performance, open support for both monitors, and an upgraded 12MP webcam.
