This is especially true, as the 2025 change of Sapphire Reserve expands the difference between the two products.

Do you both have excellent credit scores and good financial habits? Are you and your partner ready to go all out to chase the ultimate reward? If so, here’s how you can get the maximum value from Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire reserves together.

Earn 2 valuable welcome bonuses

  • Chatong Sapphire Reserve: Earn 100,000 bonus points, plus $500 in ChaseTravel℠promotion credit, spending $5,000 in purchases in the first three months of opening an account. According to TPG’s July 2025 valuation, this offer is worth $2,550 (including Chase Travel Credit), making it the best in the card’s history. This promotional credit is only applicable for one-time use, subject to the terms of the travel credit. So if you apply promotional credit to transactions with less than $500, you will lose the remaining balance.
  • Chase Sapphire’s first choice: Earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first three months of opening. TPG’s valuation believes that the offer is worth $1,538.

If you can combine the value of these two high bonuses, you can end up earning 175,000 chase points, with a value of up to $3,588 per valuation, and a $500 chase travel credit.

Consider your qualifications

Chase’s bonus eligibility requirements have changed as sapphire reserves are updated.

While you can hold two sapphire cards now, if you used to hold a sapphire card and received a welcome bonus, you most likely aren’t eligible for a bonus on the product.
