Air tickets are constantly fluctuating. Since many airlines can change flights for free (on non-basic economic tickets), you can get funds in the form of refunds or credit from the airline by rebooking flights at a lower price.
But the more you fly, the harder it is to remember to repeat and rebook tickets. Here are some tools to simplify the process – from the free price alert feature to the full-service team that makes a claim for you.

Use services that save you money
The easiest way to save on flights is to sign up for the services you provide. With these options, you don’t have to raise your fingers.

Shipback monitors flights that meet the criteria for falling prices and when lower fares appear, a claim is filed with the airline for credit for the difference. The service is available for flights booked and ticketed through Delta Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Airlines (including partner airlines).
The price of Saidback is simple: You pay $100 a year for unlimited flight credits. This may not make sense for less frequent travelers, but your accumulated savings can easily offset the cost of your subscription if you fly multiple times a year.
However, to use your lagging subscription, your name must be in the booking. Unless you travel with them, you won’t be able to apply it to your friends and family flights.
If you are concerned about the use of services such as lagging may violate the airline’s terms and conditions (e.g., American Airlines’ terms prohibit the provision of confirmation codes to third parties or the management of bookings through third-party websites), a lagging representative said the service has taken this into consideration: “saigback does not perform any rebooking…we can be in the way of price drop, if there is a qualified path, we will get a certain range of ranges, and we will get a certain range of credits for the difference.

Autonomous driving
After linking your Gmail account, AutoPilot has made it easier to save money by automatically importing flights into it. You can also manually import booking or forward flight confirmation emails. Whenever your ticket price drops $20 or more, AutoPilot will rebook you in the same fare class.
With the autopilot payment plan, you only pay if the service is successfully making money. Autonomous driving will receive a 25% commission. Plus, you can pay $9.99 per month or $99 per year for a professional plan, which saves you lower flight costs, among other privileges.
Professional users can also earn rebates on reward flights, possibly putting points and miles in your account.

Autonomous driving only works on US, delta and joint fares outside the basic economy. You can use it for your loved one’s tickets. Please note that the autopilot issues airline credit in the name of the traveler.
Similar to being behind, autonomous driving has taken into account the airline’s policies. According to Autopilot founder Sam Hollander, “For AA, [Autopilot doesn’t] Since this is in compliance with the AA terms, the process was automated, and they also consulted with legal counsel and adjusted the procedures before release. ”
Get price drop protection
Another way to restore funds to flights with minimal effort when prices drop.
Capital One’s free price decline protection
Unlike many booking portals, Capital One Travel offers free price drop protection – but there are some warnings. Price drops will only start when the portal’s algorithm recommends you “book now.”
In this case, the portal will monitor the price of the flight 10 days after booking. If the price drops at that time, you will refund the fare difference up to $50.
Although there are some restrictions on the price drop protection of Capital One Travel, it is automatic and free, and the following options will cost you.
Pay price drop protection
Certain sites, such as Expedia and Google flights, provide protection for prices to fall.
The exact terms may vary. For example, if you pay Expedia’s price drop protection, the search engine checks your flight price once a day until you fly, and if a lower price pops up, the difference will be automatically refunded after the journey is over.
However, most prices fall protection costs extra costs and there is no guarantee that you will get any money back. Consider the cost of flight and add protection to decide whether it is worth it. For example, Expedia’s price drop protection price is $249 and the ticket price is $17.
If you are booking many flights and often adding price drop protection, you might use a subscription service like saigback with an unlimited flight credit of $100.
Automatic search
While the above options are the easiest way to restore funds to flights, they charge for them. You can save money by rebooking your own flight, but who has the time to keep checking the price of the flight? Fortunately, in this day and age, there are many cheap (usually free) ways to track fares and get alerted when you get off.
Google Flights and Other Booking Sites
Many travel booking sites and search engines allow you to set price alerts for free.
For example, with Google Flights, you can narrow down the search filter to include only the required flights or viable flight ranges, and then set up alerts. You will receive an email when your date price changes. Or, if you are flexible, you can choose “any date” and the relatively low price for that flight will appear at any time.
Price alerts for other sites, including Expedia, Kayaking and Skyscanner, are similar to Google Flights’ tracking capabilities.

Capital One Travel
For Capital One cardholders with access to the Issuer Travel Portal, you can set up email or app notifications by clicking “Watch this trip.” However, some airlines (such as Southwest) are not available on Capital One Travel.
Tripit Pro
For professional subscribers, the Tripit Trip Planning tool will notify you when the price of booking flights drops (it also has many other features). This makes it easier to track specific flights, as you don’t have to narrow down the filter to get to the airline and the departure time you have already booked.
If you value other products from professionals, such as notifications, to provide better seat availability and check-in reminders, the $49 annual price of the Pro subscription may be worth it.

Bottom line
With the above tools, you can save money on your flight and put money back into your wallet more easily. Even if your ticket price is only down $20, it may add up if you fly regularly.
However, finding cheap fares takes time and effort. Depending on how many you travel, it may be worth paying for protection for services or prices that fall, or all you need is an automatic search.
