8 Ways to Get Free or Discounted TSA Precheck, Global Entry and Clear

When it comes to seamless travel, certain tools are not negotiable. For me, the ones I often turn to are clear, tsa precheck.
Both programs can help travelers manage routes through transportation safety faster. I am also a fan of the global entries, and the contestant accelerated the customs process after returning to the United States from abroad.
Here’s what each program knows – and how to get them for free or at a discount rate.
What is TSA Precheck, Global Entries and Clear?
TSA Precheck
TSA Precheck users can use dedicated lines to pass the airport safely without taking off shoes, belts or light jackets, or removing laptops or liquids from bags, such as passengers in the regular TSA series. According to TSA data, 99% of TSA Precheck users wait less than 10 minutes to pass the airport safely.
Clear
Thanks to biometric identification (via fingerprint or iris scan), clear users often do not have to display their ID at any time during the secure filtering period. However, Clear users should still bring their ID when traveling, as TSA reserves the right to perform random ID checks on all passengers. Clear members are escorted to the front of the line for safety screening machines or the front of the TSA Precheck screening lines for those with clear and TSA Precheck or the front of the normal TSA filter line.
Global Entry
Global entry has enabled specific low-risk travelers to speed up customs clearance when they arrive in the United States from abroad. Users can enter the country through kiosks at more than 75 airports.
TSA Precheck, how much does it cost to enter and clarify globally?
The cost of a five-year membership at TSA Precheck depends on how you apply. Application through Telos is $85 and renewal is $70. Meanwhile, the price for new applicants through IDEMIA is $76.75. The renewal fee through IDEMIA depends on whether you apply in person ($66.75) or online ($58.75).
The global five-year enrollment membership costs $120, but also includes access to TSA Precheck, which makes it an attractive 2-in-1 package for some travelers.
Membership is sold for $209 per year.

TSA Precheck and Global Entry Through Credit Cards
Several common branded airlines, hotels and other credit cards will provide statements of application fees related to Global Entry or TSA Precheck credit repayment. This credit is usually obtained every four to five years, although you should check the terms of a specific card with the exact frequency.
Some cards that convey reimbursement of TSA Precheck and/or global admission membership are:

Your opinion can be paid for TSA Precheck
Some loyalty programs allow members to use points or miles in exchange for membership fee coverage. However, the rate of return per point is much lower than the TPG’s valuation of these currencies, so this is not our best advice.
However, if you want to go this route, here are some member options:
- Orbitz Rewards: Platinum members receive free TSA Precheck membership every five years.
- Marriott Bonvoy: Redeem 25,000 points and apply for credit at $85 TSA Precheck.
- IHG One Reward: Redeem 30,000 points and apply for credit at $85 TSA Precheck.
- United Mileageplus: Redemption of 11,000 miles of TSA Precheck membership.

Clear membership with credit card
Unfortunately, there aren’t as many credit cards that offer free clear membership. Some cards currently providing statement credits to pay clear membership fees are:
Sometimes American Express also targets Amex offers to cover clear costs, so be sure to be aware of those limited-time offers.
Information on the Centurion, Amex Green and Hilton Aspire Cards has been independently collected by Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
