11 favorite air quality monitors we’ve tried (2025)

I hope when I first tested the IQAIR Airvisual Pro indoor air quality monitor (above) a few years ago, I hope I use the IQAIR Airvisual Outdoor Monitor (above). The display provides real-time indoor monitoring and data from the nearest outdoor air quality station, or your own right-right window outside iqairvisual outdoors. Have dedicated indoor and outdoor monitors for greater accuracy. With two monitors from IQAIR, Airvisual Pro can display side-by-side readings both indoor and outdoor on an easy-to-read screen.
According to the index number, the visual effect of the two boys on the screen will be green, revealing good air, and disillusioned in medium yellow air, all the way along the respirator mask to avoid air. Sometimes both boys are smiling green, sometimes the boys indoors are happy, and the boys outside are stuck in trouble with the dirty air. The real mechanism to know the indoor and outdoor air quality index. The monitor is also paired with IQAIR’s intuitive app, which has one of the best user experiences I’ve tried.
Unlike Purpleair’s plug crowdsourced air quality map, IQAIR has a registration process that accepts data from your outdoor display. Submit a photo of the outdoor monitor you have installed. The outdoors of the IQair are equipped with a mounting plate, two UV-resistant cable connections for rod mounts, wall-mounted plugs and screw walls. I couldn’t get into the bricks outside the building and IQAIR had no option to put it on the windowsill. There is no position to stay upright. The power adapter must not be wet by rain or snow, and it is recommended to place it at least 5 feet above the ground. IQAIR requires your outdoor placement of photos. I took a photo of the outdoor monitor on the windowsill and submitted it to IQAIR.
My submission as a contributor to the app was denied. An email from IQAir detailed why: “The data reported from your monitor doesn’t correlate with surrounding stations. Please make sure the environment is well ventilated and check if there is any pollution source nearby, then resubmit your publication so that we could review it again. From the provided photos, it appears that your installation does not ensure good airflow … Make sure air inlet is completely unobstructed, and air can freely flow around the device.”
IQAIR includes a photo of a monitor fixed above the door above the freestanding house. Although I haven’t resubmitted yet, it’s helpful to have an outdoor monitor that works with IQair Air Visual. When my neighbors used the fire pit, my PurplePleair Zen and my IQAIR Outdoor both registered PM 2.5 for 160, letting me know the kitchen windows were closed. It has four sensors that can pick up PM 2.5, CO2temperature, humidity and air pressure. I have to check my Airvisual Monitor for live reading or opening the app because IQAIR outdoors does not have an indicator light. This is indeed to be hidden outside.
