Apple leaks are often considered standard features in the field of technology news, but obviously a leaker may be too far away from Apple.
The company is suing prolific leaker Jon Prosser for allegedly getting non-public information about iOS 26 on The Edge. The new mobile operating system, commonly known as iOS 19, before the official unveiling of WWDC earlier this year, was the subject of several reports on Prosser’s YouTube channel, which turned out to accurately predict the redesign of major iPhone apps before the official announcement.

In the lawsuit, Apple claimed that “the defendant here conspired to break into the development of an iPhone by Apple employees to obtain Apple’s trade secrets.”
Apple’s specific allegation is that Prosser works through another man named Michael Ramacciotti. According to the lawsuit, Prosser allegedly “please” [Mr. Ramacciotti] To get payment.

Apple claims Ramacciotti allegedly infiltrated the company’s phone (which is running a development version of the new iOS) and showed off new features of Prosser via video calls, which were reportedly used to present renderings of Prosser reports.

Prosser wrote: “Record: This is not the situation where my end point is. Fortunately, I didn’t “draw” to access anyone’s phone. I don’t have any password. I don’t know how to get the information. Looking forward to talking to Apple about it.”
Apple hopes damages and court orders to prevent Prosser from reporting Apple Secrets again. We’ll see if Apple gets what it wants.
